This procedure can be considered as a natural scientific progression to platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection treatment. The healing potential of the clients own blood is used to produce a pain relieving and regenerative effect. Gold has also long been known for its anti-inflammatory effects and has been used in the past for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

In the GOLDIC (gold particle induced cytokines) procedure first a blood sample is taken under sterile conditions. This blood is then incubated with fine gold particles that stimulate certain blood cells (monocytes) to release vital growth factors and other substances (cytokines) into the serum producing a specially conditioned serum. The sample is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the different parts of the blood removing the gold particles, platelets and cells. The Goldic serum is then prepared for injection.

Most patients notice an improvement in their pain starting about 2-3 weeks after the injection. Some notice pain relief a bit earlier. After a course of injections the improvement can last for up to 4 years or longer in some. Depending on the initial problem, a course of injections can result in complete resolution of the problem.

Although relatively new in the UK, Goldic injection procedures are being performed worldwide. As with PRP, it is very safe.
